T-Rac, the raccoon mascot of the Tennessee Titans football team went hunting a few months ago, bagging himself one professional quarterback, Adrian McPherson of the New Orleans Saints.
Using his preferred weapon — an all terrain vehicle, presumably with four wheel drive — the six foot omnivore with almost-opposable thumbs placed the 218 pound gun-slinging graduate of Florida State in his sites and ran him over, moments before the start of the Saints/Titans preseason game.
Unlike typical hunting expeditions, the hunter may have to pay the piper for his (its?) deed. QB McPherson has sued T-Rac and the Titans for reckless disregard of safety. He’s looking for $5 million in compensatory and $15 million in punitive damages.
T-Rac has not issued a statement yet.
Here’s a copy of the complaint, thanks to the fine folks at The Smoking Gun.
Here’s an update to that story. Titans fight back.
